Welcome to 2008

Not many new prayer requests. I usually receive some via email, but have not received anything recently. Please send an email to PrayforLititz@yahoo.com if you have prayer requests for our community.

I did hear that several people came to a saving knowledge of Jesus through the various Christmas Eve church services in Lititz, so that is a big praise!!!

This month, please pray for;

REQUESTS

• - Brian Ginter has started as principal at WHS, please pray that he will provide needed leadership for the HS
• Please pray for the Christmas Eve services and church services during the month of Dec. Many people who don’t often attend church will go during this time. LEFC, Grace Church and Lititz United Methodist are all planning outreaches in the community. I know they want to invite many non-christians to their services. Please pray that these outreaches will be effective in reaching out to those in our community.  Praise God that several people were saved through these outreaches!!
• Continue to pray for the businesses in downtown Lititz, pray for the christian leaders to have wisdom in the business community. Contine to pray for the businesses in Lititz, I have had several emails lately concerning 2 businesses in Lititz. One very popular eating establishment has some questionable artwork. Another has displayed some non-christ like materials and it’s a christian business. Please pray for God’s hand to be at work in the businesses in town. The questionable artwork has been taken down!!!!!
• There are currently 2 John Beck Elementary students who have different forms of cancer, please pray for these 2 boys and their families.  I haven’t heard anything new about these boys, please let me know if you have an update
• Pray for the marriages of the pastors and youth pastors in the local churches, this is very important as there are many struggles in this area, and Satan can destroy a Godly man and his ministry by destroying his marriage. This is an urgent request with 2 specific couples in mind, please pray for God to unite, and protect these men and women! This is still an URGENT request and a sad situation, so please pray for these 2 unnamed local pastors! The one pastor is now separated. 
• Please pray against gang/wiccan influence in this community – This is a constant problem and a need for prayer in Lititz!!!!
• Pray for the Neidmyer family, who have had several devastating losses in the last several years, including the recent loss of their mom/wife. One family member is the senior class president at WHS.

This week, please pray for;

REQUEST -Pray for the current racial tensions at Warwick HS to be resolved quickly. PRAISE -This was resolved in a timely manner and many positive things has come from it. It has drawn the administrative team closer together, it has opened a discussion among students and faculty about race issues, and 2 local churches youth leadership team were asked to be part of a task force to discuss this issue.

Continue to pray for those involved and for revival at WHS. Pray that God may raise up the christian students to make a difference for Christ.

• Pray for the ongoing search for a principal and vice principal at the high school,  UPDATE  – Brian Ginter has been named as the new HS principal. Pray for God’s leading in his heart and the administrative team

High School Science class question…………..Anyone know what laminin is?

This past February, I attended a Chris Tomlin/Matt Redman/Louie Giglio concert. The concert was a great experience and the speaker for the night was Louie Giglio, the founder of the popular college Passion Conferences. One of the things he spoke on that night was laminin, now before you go running for your Greek lexicon for your bible, stop, because laminin is not in the bible. It’s a protein in your body!
Every living creature has laminin inside of them…the purpose of laminin is that it basically keeps our bodies from falling apart. It holds us as one united whole. It’s like the glue that holds our cells together. So for those of you who are still with me on this one…………..laminin is a critical part of our body make up.

Now here is what is so amazing that Louie Giglio explained so well to us that night, laminin the very structure that hold us together looks like this…………

The cellular structure that holds our body together is the shape of the cross! Does God have a sense of humor or what! Amazing isn’t it? This is a glorious reminder to me that when the rough times comes, and the storm of life takes hold of me, what is holding my physical body together is a cellular protein in the shape of a cross!!! We truly are wonderfully made.

To actually here Louie Giglio speak on this is riveting. Check out the You Tube video of Louie Giglio speaking on laminin, they don’t have the whole thing, but you can get the idea from it.

Prayer Requests for Oct. 15th

~ John 17:23 …..May they be brought to complete unity to let the world know that you sent me and have loved them, even as you have loved me ~

This week, please pray for;

REQUEST -Pray for the current racial tensions at Warwick HS to be resolved quickly. Pray for wisdom for the local police and administrators as they deal with this unfortunate situation. Pray also for those involved directly with this, pray for the kids who have been taunting the other students and wearing confederate flag shirts to school, pray that their hearts may be softened and they may learn of the saving grace of Jesus. Pray also for those students who have been taunted, pray for their fragile emotional state, and may they learn of the grace and comfort of Christ during this time. Pray also for all the Warwick students who were affected by the search for weapons before school on Friday. – Continue to pray for this, much of the situation and danger has been resolved. But the fragile emotions are still in issue, pray that Christ may be glorified through this and lives will be changed! A task force is being formed, and several local churches are being asked to be involved in this. Pray that their presence will be fruitful. Pray specifically for Dr. George as he makes many decisions concerning the recent events at WHS.

• This is a key request and will continue to stay up. Please pray for the teachers, administrators and for the students in the WSD. Pray for protection while the kids are at school. Pray for those High School students who feel lost, and are trying to fit in. After the recent racial issues at WHS, pray that students lives will be changed for Christ
• Pray for the teens of this community and for christian teens to heed God’s call to make a difference for Christ in the Lititz area, many teens prayed at their flag pole, for the “See you at the Pole” event this last Wed. Pray that seeds would be planted and students will make a difference.
• Pray for the ongoing search for a principal and vice principal at the high school, the search has expanded and they are still looking for candidates. Pray that this will become a priority again.
